Painting the Textured Ceiling
1. First of all, choose the color that you want your ceiling to be and you do not have to go with the traditional white.

2. Measure your ceiling and buy enough paint to cover it.

3. Also you will need masking tape as well as plastic sheeting to cover your furniture and some paint rollers or paint sprayer.

4. If you can then take as much furniture out from the room you will be painting in as possible.

5. Use the plastic sheeting to cover rest of the furniture and floor of the room.

6. Also cover the upper 3 feet of the walls with plastic sheeting. You can use tape or staples to secure it.

7. Clean the ceiling with a vacuum. Do not drag the vacuum attachment straightly over the texture.

Painting the Ceiling

1. Use either a roller or a spray machine. If you use a roller it will not create as much of a mess as a spray machine will. But the negative thing is that it takes a lot more time and it is harder to cover all of the ceiling properly. The spray machine will cover the ceiling very well but your room will be messier and it might be hard to handle the machine if you have not done it before.

2. Use a brush to edge the ceiling if you are using a roller. Basically color the edges first with either a bristle brush or you could also use a foam- rubber brush.

3. Use a long- nap roller to cover the rest of the ceiling with color. The best would be to either apply one or two coats.

4. If you are using a spray machine than the first thing is for you to cover yourself with protective clothes. Try to make even strokes and also you should spray from the same distance from the surface you are painting. It is better to use multiple light passes than to spray one very heavy pass.
