Do ceilings need to a shade lighter than the walls?
I have all the wall colors picked out I just can't decide on the ceilings. Everyone gives me a different opinion when I ask. Some say same as the walls, others say go one shade lighter but same color as walls, and others say WHITE. I'm have a light tan color in the kitchen so I am thinking that the ceiling could be the same since it is a lighter color. But the other rooms are a dark brown, a medium brown and a green what do I do there?
Answer:
I just did my kitchen a light tan color and was worried about doing the ceiling the same color, but I did it anyway and it turned out great. Looks nice and didn't make the area appear any darker or smaller than before.
